The designations were conferred following a comprehensive learning program that covered life insurance planning, investment planning, risk, healthcare, and estate planning. Discussions, which revolved around actual cases, covered local laws that apply to succession and inheritance in the Philippines, the different tools used in estate planning, and how to manage the impact of estate taxation.
To ensure that the lessons are well internalized, participants were assigned cases which they need to present and defend. They likewise underwent an exam after each module and a final revalida.
Sun Life’s engagement with WMC is part of its efforts to continuously upskill its advisors, especially those looking to specialize in high-net-worth business. The two organizations have been working together since 2021, with an initial batch of advisors and employees taking their Certified Wealth Planner (CWP) and Certified Estate Planner Philippines (CEPP) courses. The current batch bring the total number of Sun Life graduates to over 700.
