HUAWEI Tops Q2 2024 Wearable Tech Sector with Record Growth Says Latest IDC Data
Manila, Philippines (September 13, 2024) — HUAWEI has secured the top spot in the global wearable tech market for the second quarter of 2024, according to the latest data from the International Data Corporation (IDC) Worldwide Quarterly Wearable Device Tracker.
The global wrist-worn device market shipped 43.7 million units in the second quarter of the year, seeing a slight year-over-year (YoY) decrease of 0.7%. HUAWEI defied this trend by posting significant gains.

HUAWEI’s outstanding performance in the wearable space is highlighted by its substantial shipments and market share, posting 8.9 million units in shipments and 20.3% market share in Q2 of 2024, compared to 6.3 million units shipments and 14.2% market share in Q2 of 2023. The global tech brand has recorded a 42.1% YoY growth rate, besting its competitors.
The launch of HUAWEI’s line of wearable devices boosted its performance in the first half of 2023, with 55.1% YoY increase in shipments.
