Continuing its drive to promote sustainability efforts and practices in the country and around the world, Brother International Philippines Corporation recently struck a partnership with marine conservation organization SEA Institute to hold a two-day corporate social responsibility (CSR) activity in which Brother employees and their families learned more about marine biodiversity and responsible fishing in the Verde Island Passage (VIP) in southern Luzon.
The CSR activity, held on October 12 and 13 at Sepoc Beach in Tingloy, Batangas on the first day and Eagle Point Resort in Mabini, Batangas on the second, saw members of the SEA Institute introduce and discuss their mission to conserve the VIP’s biodiversity and increase awareness for their cause. They did so through fun activities for both adults and children, water sports such as kayaking and swimming, as well as professional scuba diving training for adults at the Eagle Point Resort.

Brother’s CSR plans were also supported by messages from Mr. Ichiro Sasaki, Representative Director and President of Brother Industries Ltd. and Mr. Toru Uchibayashi, President of Brother International Corporation.
Brother employees left Batangas with a greater appreciation and understanding of the amazing natural biodiversity present in the VIP and Philippine seas, as well as better awareness of what everyone can do to help preserve our natural resources.
