OCTOBER 15 – The SM Foundation Inc. is now accepting online application for its College Scholarship Program for School Year 2020-2021 until December 31.
The scholarship program has been helping underprivileged students attain college degrees and make best use of their full potential to reach their life goals for over two decades now, with more than 4,000 college scholars supported.
To qualify, a student must be a Grade 12 public high school graduate or private school graduate with Department of Education voucher who completed junior high school from a public school. The applicant must have a general weighted average grade of at least 88% or its equivalent during the first semester. The total household income should also be Php150,000 or less per year.
Degrees offered are Bachelor of Science courses in Computer Science, Information Technology, and Engineering in Electronics, Electronics and Communications, Computer, Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical, Elementary Education, Secondary Education major in Biology, Chemistry, General Sciences, Physics, Mathematics, and English, Accountancy, Accounting Technology, Accounting Information Systems, Internal Auditing, Financial Management, and Management Accounting.
In Bulacan, scholars are given the chance to pursue college in Bulacan State University, Baliuag University, and Meycauayan College. Some partner schools in Metro Manila where scholars may also opt to study are Asia Pacific College, Far Eastern University, Jose Rizal University, National University, Pamantasang Lungsod ng Maynila, Philippine Normal University, Philippine School of Business Administration, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, University of the East Caloocan, and University of the Philippines in Diliman.
SM scholars will receive full tuition fee assistance, monthly allowance, and part time job opportunities during Christmas and semester breaks. After graduation, the scholars will also receive job offer from SM group of Companies and its affiliates.
Interested applicants must log in to SM Foundation website at www.sm-foundation.org and accomplish the application form with the required attachments including a sketch of home to the nearest SM Mall.
Applicants from Bulacan may set SM City Marilao, SM City Baliwag, SM City San Jose del Monte, or SM Center Pulilan as landmark from their home.
Strictly online applications will be accepted and no walk-ins will be allowed. After confirming application online, SM Foundation will assess submitted forms and documents and will announce the details of examination and interview through email.
