In
observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, breast cancer survivors,
advocates, and experts gathered together for Pink Ribbon Day at the
Skydome of SM City North EDSA. Guests and breast cancer survivors
Toni Abad, Maritoni
Fernandez and Alya Honasan shared personal stories of beating breast
cancer. Now on
its second year, Pink Ribbon Day aims to educate Filipinas on breast
cancer prevention through awareness,
early detection and intervention.
The event featured a short Zumba
session led by host Regine Tolentino, a talk
by the Philippine
Breast Cancer Society,
and free clinical breast examinations administered by volunteer
doctors. Pink
Ribbon Day was organized
by SM Cares, the corporate social responsibility arm of SM Prime
Holdings, in partnership with the Philippine Breast Cancer Society
and SM City North EDSA. On
