Dubbed as the “Isang Piging: Rigodon De Honor” or the Investor’s Night and Awarding of Top Tax Payers, the event was part of the city’s recent Tanglawan Festival to give thanks and recognized all the investors and businesses in San Jose del Monte. The said event was an opportunity not only to showcase the week-long festival but to inform all the businessmen and women on how they lift up the local governments’ operations and projects through their taxes.

According to the Assistant City Administrator Atty. Paul S. Vega, the 40% of the total tax collection were the joint contribution of the top 25 business in San Jose del Monte, wherein SM Group of Companies bagged the first three spots, led by The SM Store (Madison Shopping Plaza, Inc.), SM Supermarket (Supervalue, Inc.) on the second spot, and SM Prime Holdings, Inc. on the third.
Moreover, Atty. Vega also mentioned how SM supports the local government to achieve the one-stop-shop government service express. “Before we opened the Business Permit Licensing Office, there are eleven steps in seven different locations to open a business. But through the support of SM Group of Companies, we only have three steps – File, Pay, and Claim, all in one location, we are located at the Basement 2 of SM City San Jose del Monte” he discussed.
The awarding of the uncategorized Top 25 Tax Payers, and recognition of the 25 businesses with multiple branches in the city was headed by Mayor Arthur Robes and Congresswoman Florida Robes. They also expressed their appreciation to SM in providing access to businesses in their establishment and renewal of permits with the view of creating more business friendly climate in San Jose del Monte. “I am sorry if I am being bias for tonight, we would like to thank Globe Telecom and of course SM Prime Holdings for accommodating us.” Congw. Robes said as she also mentioned that the first thing that they considered after winning the elections in 2016 was the welfare of the businessmen and women in San Jose del Monte.
Furthermore, some of the affiliates of SM also ranked the top tax payers including, Savemore Market (Sanford Marketing Corporation), and Ace Hardware. Alfamart (Alpha Metro Marketing, Inc.) was also recognized for having multiple branches in San Jose del Monte.
