The 2016 League of
Legends (LoL) World Championships recently concluded with a bang at
the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Acer was in on all the action as
an official sponsor of the eSports event, where it supplied over 100
Predator XB241H monitors for equipping the professional practice
rooms and stages, displaying all the excitement during the matches.
As a part of the sponsorship, the Acer logo was prominently featured
throughout the venue and on the live video streaming of all the
matches. In addition to approximately 20,000 people at the Staples
Center, the live video streaming of the event received over a
staggering 8801 million views. Besides this year’s LoL World
Championships, Acer is also the official sponsor of the 2016 LoL
All-Star Event to be held from December 8-12 in Barcelona. You can
watch the live video streaming of the event here.
The 2016 LoL World
Championships is among a series of strategic eSports sponsorships it
has undertaken in 2016 and the biggest one to date. Over the summer,
Predator XB241H was named as the official gaming monitor of Intel
Extreme Masters Season 11, which will conclude in Katowice, Poland in
early March 2017. In China, Acer sponsored team EDG, one of the
finalists at the 2016 LoL World Championships, and in Malaysia Acer
sponsored the Mineski Southeast Asian Championship.
